例えば、対戦格闘ゲームには

『単に圧倒的に強いキャラは使うべきではない』

というワビサビが存在している。


僕らはゲームセンターという現場で

そういった作法というか

暗黙の了解のようなものを学んできた。


だけど

なぜ僕らは対戦格闘ゲームをするときに

弱いキャラを使うことに趣を感じるのだろう。


ピンク道着の男や

からくり宇宙忍者や

酔っ払いのじじいや

ヴァンパイアハンターの人に

何か特別な感情を抱いてはいないだろうか？


赤いパンツのプロレスラーが

飛び道具を絶えて絶えて

それでも飛び込んで

弱パンチシャッシャツシャッフン！失敗！

という、その姿に何かを重ねては居ないだろうか？


ひょっとして僕らは

弱いキャラクターが

そのパラメータ的ハンディを乗り越えて

勝利する姿が見たいのではないだろうか？


だが我々は非モテゆえ

戦い忘れた人のため


僕ら非モテは

その非モテゆえ

初期パラメータによるキャラ差を無意識の内に感じていて

現実という世界のゲームバランスに対して

何か抵抗したいと願っているのではないだろうか？


確かに、人生はクソゲーかもしれないけれど。


それは、誰にでもある判官贔屓なのかもしれないけれど。


だけど

僕らはいつだって

弱い奴が強い奴に勝利するシーンに

心から拍手を送りたいと思ってる。


そのバンダナは知識の証

ケミカルウォッシュは勝利の印

穴あきグローブは栄光を掴むために

大きなリュックに沢山の夢を詰めて

僕らは今日も現実という名のモニタに向かう。
